The Answer, Continued

SRYERBEEACDCIAAEJXFC0

It’s actually two things put together.

S R Y E R B E E A C D C I A A E J X F C 0
SYREADIAJXFC0 and REBECCA.1

So the message is

Syreadia JX-F c0 – Rebecca

So that’s the system we clearly need to head to! And I guess who sent the message?

But you’ll probably find you can’t plot a direct route there. The galaxy map just can’t figure out how to get there.2

The stars are really thinning out and there are no easy routes.

What players found was that they had to carry on travelling down the galactic arm until there were enough stars close enough to each other to bridge the rift to the destination. This became known in the lore as Heisenberg Bridge.3

Waypoint 13/16: Pha Airg HG-Y c0 (4527.18 LY, ~67 jumps)

You can skip that one as soon as you can get a route to Waypoint 14. There’s nothing here, it was just a location that allowed you to get to the destination.

At this point you should have a clear line to the destination, the Heisenberg Bridge.

Again, look on screen how many stars are in front of you, and how many are behind you. You’re near the edge, near the rim, near the void.

Waypoint 14/16: Syreadiae JX-F c0 (2662.08 LY, ~40 jumps)

You here? Good.

So, what’s in this system?

Take a look.

Found what we’re looking for? Right On, Commander…

Drew’s Footnotes

  1. Rebecca is the mysterious woman in Reclamation right at the beginning of the story. This was an indulgence on my part, as Rebecca is the heroine in my original fan-fic “Oolite Saga” written long before ED was a thing, but based in the Elite universe. Her life is covered in those books, but she was a young explorer in the timeframe of the original Elite (a hundred and more years before ED) and was thus a fun way to “hand over the torch” to a new heroine in the form of Salomé. The meeting in the hospital was no accident… 😉 ↩︎
  2. It was proper exploration in those days! ↩︎
  3. Another nice piece of player generated lore. You had to actually find a way into the zone that wasn’t obvious. ↩︎
