It&#8217;s 65,153LY out to Beagle Point from our start location, and we can&#8217;t fly a direct route! The Distant Worlds 1 route was 81,130LY. Then we still have to get back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ll be taking the Distant Worlds 1 route out to Beagle Point and then the Distant Worlds 2 route back to the bubble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be prepared for a long trip, both in time (being away from the bubble) and distance (your ship should be outfitted as an explorer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That all said, it will be much easier now. No un-engineered Asp Explorers for us! We have much better jump range, much better equipment, SCO for getting around in-system and detailed surface scanners to find stuff. Just take care when setting up your ship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Explorer Outfitting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Personally, I\u2019d recommend:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A Mandalay or Anaconda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An A-rated SCO FSD, engineered for longer jump range if possible (min 35LY, 50LY will help, but the more the better)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guardian FSD booster, to help that jump range<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Huge fuel scoop, the bigger the better, you&#8217;ll be spending a LOT of time scooping<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SRV bay (preferably two SRVs just in case, but one will do)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Detailed Surface Scanner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An Automatic Field Maintenance Unit (AFMU) or two (one can repair the other)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A decent shield<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For hull repair, a repair limpet controller<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BUY LIMPETS \ud83d\ude0a<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"44\" height=\"44\" src=\"https:\/\/jonbaker.me\/beaglepointrevisited\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/ninjao7.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-80\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jonbaker.me\/beaglepointrevisited\/index.php\/distant-worlds-history-lesson\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"43\">\u25ba Next up is a history lesson&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Expedition Info This is a long trip!
